for the latest information on
impacts/policies for local chapters
Our thoughts and prayers are with our P.E.O. sisters in Iowa and Illinois, where the recent derecho (violent straight-line windstorm) went through their states the week of August 10.
Des Moines was especially hard hit with numerous power outages and many trees down. As a result, the P.E.O. office was without power & internet for several days and it continues to be somewhat sporadic.
This may cause a delay in the ability to provide all P.E.O.s with printed guidelines for re-opening business meetings in September. Please visit our Members Home page for more information from Kathy Soppe, Executive Director of P.E.O. International.
Finally, the month we have all been waiting for ~ when local chapters can “get down to business” and have a chapter meeting! It has been great to stay in touch socially but P.E.O.s everywhere agree that there is nothing like working together in our mission of empowering women through educational opportunities. That work begins in our local chapters.
Check out the COVID-19 link on our State website for all the updated pages for the President’s book for chapter meetings. All 3 forms of meeting are there along with appendices for each method of meeting. You will find it easy to read and printed in the same format as the President’s Book. Please reach out to the State Board officers (your Board Buddy is your best officer resource) if you have any questions or guidance. And, have a great meeting!!
All pages for the 3 meetings available from our website on the COVID-19 link (see above

The Local Chapter Cascading Goals worksheet for 2020-2021 will not be required this year. International is working toward establishing goals for 2021-2022 and has determined that due to our inability to meet we will not ask for you to submit your goals. Kudos to you if you have done them; relax if you haven't!

A Message from International
Chapter President, Brenda Atchison
Friday, June 12, 2020
Our beloved meaning of the letters P.E.O. is crying out to me.
Our values and virtues of faith, love, purity, justice and truth are crying out to me.
You, my sisters, our nations and this sisterhood are crying out to me.
Racism, bigotry, bullying, hate and societal inequities have absolutely no place in our Sisterhood or in this world.
We condemn the acts of social injustice still present in our nations.
P.E.O. must be a part of the solution.
Reach out to your sisters. They need you.
Educate yourself and your chapter. Learn more about history and people that are not like you.
Think before you speak or act. Be positive.
What will your legacy be?
I see you. I hear you. I am listening.

! NEW STATE COMMITTEE !
With the increased use of digital communication (which we are using more and more now during the pandemic), the 2019-2020 State Board decided to establish a new state committee ~ Technology.
Because we could not hold a convention this year, the committee members were appointed by the President and approved by the 2020-2021 Board.
The members are Beth Staples, PSP, M;
Laura Vriesema, M and Beth Gammie, PSP, W .
These women have already been meeting virtually and setting forth goals for the year.
You will find a link to Technology on the
Members Home page.
